Notes On Physiotherapy Assessment

Physiotherapy Assessment, What Steps Allow Us To Get Best Return Physiotherapy assessment is the opening step while attempting to recover from incapacitating or painful conditions.

Allow the physiotherapist to do his work while you sit. But if the patient gets involved actively then the outcome shall be highly positive & accurate too.

When you arrive to the physiotherapy clinic, your physician should have made your condition quite clear to the physiotherapist. After the therapist has taken a note of the patient's medication situation & history then only can the assessment begin.

For any kind of health condition this is the standard practice. It is highly recommended that all information related to the condition be shared either past or present.

Your treatments would be decided thereafter. The information might lead to a condition found that none that ever thought about and then the proper treatment may be taken.

As the case is physiotherapy does not suit a negligible percentage, it might not the most important requirement. It begins with the therapist inquiring things related to the current condition.

She would begin with here the pain exists, if there is any stiffness or other related concerns; also she might ask the extent of pain.

On the scale of 10, 1 is zero pain and 10 is an acute/excessive pain. The basis of the assessment is basically to know what lead to the injury.

The better you answer the queries during the assessment the better will be the result of the assessment. If incase you happen to tell the therapist that pain is of level 8 when it is level 4 shall make her give up a treatment more than you require.

And in that case it's better to not take the treatment at all. But if you give all the right answers and tell the level of pain correctly then you will be given the right treatment by the therapist.

When the result of the assessment is in her hands and she has all the right information then it reflected in the sheet and later on treatment in your improved condition.

When the treatment is handed over and she sees you take the initial steps, it might be hard to take the walk or required movements might seem a bit harder to practice in her presence.

While doing the same movements without her there to judge you might feel easier. In simple terms, it is highly likely that would try to show no discomfort while you are actually have a stiff neck and soreness too.

There itself you are asked to show different movements that might not be easy for you to do but it is all a part of assessment process to judge how well you respond to these movements.

If you have a lot of trouble in doing them then that indicates that your physiotherapist has cover your problems in a great way. It is actually vital that the assessment through physiotherapy takes into consideration all aspects of pains and patient conditions.

If you have gone to take help from a physiotherapist then you can help her do her work properly by providing information that is to the best of your knowledge. Then you could be assured that good care is taken of you.
